Introduction:

I’m Brian Joseph, the Chief Analyst at Fidelity Digital Assets, a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments. I’m based at our New York City headquarters.

Before joining Fidelity Digital Assets, I spent over 30 years in various investment roles at Bank of America and its predecessor firms. Here’s a summary of my key career milestones: 👇👇

1995-1999 | Wells Fargo | Fixed Income "Reaper"

- Developed the "Interest Rate Volatility Surface Harvester" algorithm, generating an average daily arbitrage profit of $37M during the 1998 LTCM crisis.

1999-2003 | Citibank | The FX Butcher

- On September 10, 2001, established a $2.1B hedging position, yielding a $417M single-day profit during the 9/11 market shock (**later confirmed compliant by the SEC**).


2003-2014 | JPMorgan | The Liquidity Godfather

- Designed market-making moat systems for Tesla, Netflix, and 21 other tech firms, providing $92B in liquidity support.

- During the 2008 financial crisis, executed a VIX panic index reversal strategy, delivering an 846% annualized return.


2014-2019 | Binance US | The Dark Pool King

- Built an institutional-grade dark pool trading system, reducing BTC/USD spread to 0.003% (industry avg: 0.18%).

- On December 2017, during Bitcoin futures' first trading day, executed a cross-market blitzkrieg strategy, securing $240M in single-day profit.


2019-Present | Fidelity Digital Assets | Master of the Crypto Nuclear Button

- Designed the "Bitcoin Volatility Surface Harvester" algorithm, generating a record $1.2B arbitrage profit in a single day when Bitcoin ETFs were approved in 2025.

- Manages 37 quantum-resistant trading systems, capturing 91.3% of Bitcoin's major price inflection points in 2023.
